Dardanel calamari: a full pack or half a pack

Dardanel's Kalamar Tava panel provides 182 kcal and 9.3 g protein per 100 g. The referenced 300 g pack contains 546 kcal; half the pack, 150 g, contains 273 kcal. Weigh the rings instead of assigning a fixed value to three or six pieces: ring size and coating can vary.

What is included in the weight?

The product contains 60% squid, with wheat flour, vegetable oils, whey powder and corn starch among the coating ingredients. At that recipe proportion, 150 g of product contains a 90 g share of squid. It is not 150 g of plain squid flesh. The full coated portion supplies 28.35 g carbohydrate and 11.1 g fat.

When checking the allergen label, account for both wheat and milk-derived whey. The coated rings are neither gluten-free nor dairy-free. The manufacturer's 0 g sugars declaration also does not mean zero carbohydrate.

At an equal 150 g, Dardanel crispy sardines supply 378 kcal and 1.95 g salt, compared with 273 kcal and 3 g salt for the calamari. The lower-calorie option is not the lower-salt one; compare each coated seafood product using its own label.

Salt and dipping sauces

The product has 2 g salt per 100 g, rising to 3 g in a 150 g half-pack portion. Weigh tarator, mayonnaise or another dip separately. Sauces shown in a serving photograph are not necessarily supplied in the package, and a shared bowl of dip is not automatically one person's portion.

Pan or airfryer cooking

Use the weight taken from the frozen pack. Water loss, additional oil and any coating left behind can change the finished weight. Without a separate cooked analysis, 100 g of cooked rings cannot be treated as 100 g of frozen product. Oil already present in the coating is included in the panel; the amount of additional frying oil absorbed at home is not established by the amount poured into the pan.

The producer specifies storage at −18 °C, and the pack shows pan and airfryer options. Use your pack's complete preparation instructions for appliance temperature and cooking time.
