The 100 g Dardanel Classic sardine reference

The historical 100 g Dardanel Sardalya Klasik can reference contains 225 kcal and 21.1 g protein. A weighed 50 g amount provides 113 kcal and 10.55 g protein. Dividing the contents in half differs from draining the oil and weighing only the fish.

What changes when the oil is drained?

No drained weight or separate drained-product panel is supplied for the reference. A 100 g can therefore cannot be treated as 100 g of drained fish. Without knowing how much oil was removed, there is no reliable fixed calorie deduction. Draining also does not establish that all oil remaining on the fish has disappeared.

Using sardines in a salad or on bread

A 50 g amount from the reference contributes 113 kcal before additional olive oil, bread or dressing. When using the whole contents, count the canned product once. Adding a second plain-sardine entry would count the same fish twice.

Classic canned sardines, spicy sardines and crispy coated sardines are different products. Coated sardines include flour and oil alongside the fish. Compare equal weights while keeping the preparation clear, rather than assuming every sardine product uses the same panel.

Are omega-3 and salt values available?

The fish name alone does not justify borrowing omega-3 or salt figures from another can. Verified numerical declarations for the historical Classic pack were not found, so those values remain unknown. An empty salt value is not a salt-free claim; check the label on the can you are buying.

The omega-3 food table describes a separate drained, tomato-sauce sardine example. Its amount cannot fill the missing omega-3 value for the Classic can.

Product reference

Diyetkolik's entry, illustrated with a 100 g can marked “Klasik”, lists 225 kcal, 3.7 g carbohydrate, 21.1 g protein and 14.3 g fat per 100 g. The newer 125 g olive-oil Çanakkale Sardalya is a separate reference. Oil type, drained weight, fiber, sugars, saturated fat and micronutrients were not verified for the older can. The figures are a historical secondary reference.
