Dardanel spicy-sardine portions

The older 100 g Dardanel spicy-sardine reference provides 225 kcal and 21.1 g protein. A weighed 50 g amount supplies 113 kcal, 10.55 g protein and 7.15 g fat. The values describe the prepared spicy product, not plain raw sardines.

Serving sardines with bread or salad

For sardines on toast, count the bread and fish separately. When adding the product to a salad, its existing fat is already included in the fish reference; olive oil poured over the salad is an additional ingredient. The 50 g fish calculation is not the energy of the entire meal.

Can you subtract calories after draining?

Pouring away liquid does not reveal how many grams of fat were removed. The selected source has no separate drained-product analysis, so it cannot support a precise calorie reduction after draining. If your can provides a panel specifically for drained fish, use that panel and distinguish the can's net weight from the fish you eat.

A different example with an explicit drained declaration is spicy tuna labelled 160 g net and 104 g drained. Its weights do not transfer to sardines; the example shows which wording to look for on a label.

Check which can you have

The older photographed can weighs 100 g. A newer 105 g olive-oil pack was not verified as the same formulation. Oil, sauce and net weight can change within a brand. A different product label should take precedence over the historical portion example used here.

The tomato-sauce sardine entry describes a separate product with its sauce included. Matching numbers in the spicy and tomato references do not establish identical ingredients.

The historical 100 g Classic sardine can is a separate variety too. Matching figures for Classic and spicy cans do not establish the same oil or recipe; use the current label on your own can.

Source note

Diyetkolik lists 225 kcal, 3.7 g carbohydrate, 21.1 g protein and 14.3 g fat per 100 g for the named spicy-sardine record. Migros's written sunflower-oil ingredient list conflicts with its newer olive-oil photo; the panels were not combined. Sugars, salt, saturated fat, calcium and omega-3 were not verified for the older reference and are not shown as zero.
