Fruit Biscuits: Packs and Sugars

Calories in the 45 g pack

A full 45 g pack of Eti Form mixed-fruit bran biscuits contains 180 kcal, 26.1 g carbohydrate and 6.3 g fibre. A weighed half-pack of 22.5 g provides 90 kcal. Pack weight remains useful when the biscuits vary in size or include broken pieces.

If eating them with tea or coffee, putting the amount you want on a plate makes the portion easier to follow. A milky drink adds its own nutrients and, depending on the drink, sugar. The biscuit figures alone do not describe the whole snack.

Are fruit biscuits sugar-free?

This version is not sugar-free. It contains dried apricot, candied sour cherries and dried plum; the candied cherries include sugar and dextrose. The declared 3.7 g total sugars per 100 g works out to about 1.67 g in a 45 g pack. This is different from the pack’s 26.1 g total carbohydrate.

Isomalt and sorbitol also appear in the ingredients. Their quantities are not declared, so subtracting sugars from carbohydrate does not reveal the amount of sweetener. Consider the flour, bran, fat and fruit together rather than choosing from the fruit picture alone.

Raisin Burçak Sultani also contains fruit and bran, but declares 6.51 g sugars per 30 g. This Form variety supplies 1.11 g at the same 30 g weight; the comparison uses equal amounts.

Source and ingredients

Migros’s 45 g product listing gives 401 kcal per 100 g, 12.3% bran, 4.7% dried apricot and 1.8% candied sour cherries. The pack contains 0.63 g salt; the table expresses this as sodium. Contains gluten; may contain traces of sesame, milk and egg. Older labels and other Form varieties should be checked separately.
