Dietitian's Tips for Consuming Fruit Wine

  • Metabolic Effect: Due to its alcohol content, it is rapidly absorbed into the body and can raise blood sugar. It also has a diuretic effect, meaning it speeds up water removal from the body.
  • Consumption Recommendation: Consuming it with meals slows down the absorption of alcohol and can help blood sugar rise more balanced. Drinking plenty of water also prevents water loss from the body.
  • Things to Consider: A glass of fruit wine contains approximately 150 calories and is a source of empty calories. Excessive consumption can negatively affect liver health and cause weight gain.
  • Exercise Equivalent: To burn the calories from a glass of wine, you need to walk at a light pace for about 30 minutes. Alternatively, a 15-minute brisk dance can provide the same effect.
