How many calories are in pine honey?

Pine honey provides 327 kcal per 100 g. A weighed 10 g amount gives 33 kcal and 8.17 g carbohydrate; 20 g gives 65 kcal and 16.35 g carbohydrate. Measure the amount spread on bread or stirred into yogurt before adding it to the meal total.

How many grams are in a spoonful?

Spoon size and fullness change the weight. Tare a container on a scale and add the honey to measure it directly. Increasing an amount from 10 g to 20 g adds about 33 kcal. Honey left on the spoon may mean that the weighed and eaten quantities differ. Honeycomb weight cannot be entered directly as strained honey.

Adding honey to yogurt or drinks

Dissolving honey in a hot or cold drink does not remove its calories. The same amount remains if you drink the whole mixture. Honey added to plain yogurt contributes energy in addition to the yogurt; it is not a meaningful protein ingredient, providing 0.01 g protein per 10 g. For packaged pine honey, use the specific label because a general reference need not match every producer’s batch.

Adding 10 g pine honey to 150 g plain whole-milk yogurt gives about 124 kcal and 5.22 g protein using the two selected references. Most of the protein comes from yogurt. Total sugars cannot be stated precisely because the generic honey record does not report that total.

For example, the Balparmak Çıtkapak pine honey label gives about 30 kcal per 10 g, while the generic TürKomp example gives 33 kcal.

How does pine honey differ from blossom honey?

Pine honey is a honeydew honey: bees collect honeydew produced by scale insects living on pine trees. A different origin does not make it sugar-free. The general table cannot establish that every pine honey is lower in sugars than every blossom honey or unrestricted for someone with diabetes. Do not give honey to babies under 12 months, including honey mixed into food, water or formula.

Source note: Nutrition uses TürKomp 10.02.0002, pine honey. Carbohydrate has not been labelled as total sugars, and incomplete sugar fractions have not been added into a supposed total. Honeydew identity follows the Turkish agriculture ministry explanation; the age restriction follows CDC infant-feeding guidance.
