Tada stuffed vine leaves: calories in the 200 g pack

The manufacturer's label for this 200 g product gives 178 calories per 100 g. Half the pack weighs 100 g; the full pack provides 356 calories. A weighed 50 g portion gives 89. These figures describe this Tada recipe, not every homemade dolma or a different-sized package with another formulation. [1]

How many calories are in three or four dolmades?

Rolls differ in thickness and filling. Weigh three or four together before calculating: if their combined weight is 100 g, the result is 178 calories. A serving does not have to be five or six pieces. Comparing rolls with a slice of bread also requires both weights and a clear comparison measure, such as carbohydrate rather than just piece count.

The raw grape-leaf reference’s 3 g example leaf is not the weight of a finished stuffed roll. Weigh the complete edible dolma, including its rice and oil; empty-leaf counts cannot replace the packaged food’s weight.

Carbohydrate, protein and weight management

Each 100 g supplies 20.1 g carbohydrate, 2.4 g protein and 1 g fibre. Rice-filled rolls are not equivalent to a protein-rich main dish. You might add yogurt or another suitable protein food, counting its contribution separately. Adjusting the portion around the rest of your meals is more useful than deciding that stuffed leaves must always be forbidden during weight loss. The difference between salt and sodium measurements explains why the two label numbers differ.

The full pack contains 6.2 g sugars and 2.6 g salt, equivalent to 1040 mg sodium. If you limit salt, check that amount rather than judging the product only by “olive oil” in its name. The ingredients list includes sunflower oil and 1.5% olive oil; it is not made with olive oil alone. [1]

Does the opened pack need refrigeration?

For this 200 g product, the manufacturer specifies storage at +4°C and immediate consumption after opening. Do not eat from a swollen, leaking or damaged pack. Instructions for a different shelf-stable tin should not replace these directions. The label also warns of traces of gluten, dairy, celery, sulphites and soya; check the current package if you have an allergy. [1]

The 190 g Dardanel Fit brown-rice sarma reference specifies cool, dry storage before opening. Prepared vine-leaf products do not all share storage conditions; follow the +4 °C directions for this Tada pack.
