Calories in a slice of apple walnut tart

A slice weighing 75 g provides about 198 kcal in the reference recipe; a 150 g slice provides 397 kcal. Two slices from the same tart can differ greatly in size. Weigh the piece you intend to eat before choosing a portion in the calculator.

The recipe behind the figures

The reference is an apple and walnut lattice tart made with olive oil, light yogurt and Splenda. A butter-based, sugar-sweetened or cream-filled tart needs a different calculation. The listed 100 g portion supplies 264 kcal and 38.47 g carbohydrate. Apples, flour and yogurt contribute carbohydrate even when a sweetener replaces table sugar; the tart should not be assumed sugar-free or carbohydrate-free.

The lattice apple tart made with margarine and a flour mixture is a different example, providing about 323 kcal per 120 g slice. The figures for this walnut, yogurt and sweetener recipe cannot be transferred to it.

Ice cream and extra walnuts

A small 50 g piece provides about 132 kcal. Weigh any rich vanilla ice cream separately instead of entering the combined plate weight as tart. Walnuts already included in the recipe are part of its nutrition profile; count only ground walnuts added afterwards as an extra. The walnut filling does not remove the contribution from pastry or toppings.

Calculating your own tart

Divide the total energy of your ingredients by the cooled tart's edible weight, then multiply by 100 to obtain a per-100-g value. Raw ingredient weight is not the finished weight because moisture escapes during baking. Multiply the resulting value by your slice's weight and divide by 100. Cutting more slices changes the amount per slice, not the total energy in the tart.

Source note: The original Diyetkolik recipe is paired with its structured nutrition table: 264.48 kcal per 100 g and 396.72 kcal per 150 g. A misleading portion sentence and conflicting slice counts were not adopted. These are recipe estimates. Total sugars are unreported; ambiguous saturated-fat units and vitamin A in IU were not converted.
