Calories in the diet baked apple dessert

A 160 g portion supplies about 91 calories in the butter, cinnamon and sweetener recipe. The 320 g reference portion has about 182 calories, while 100 g has 57. A 160 g serving contains 13.59 g carbohydrate, 3.57 g fat and 2.06 g fibre. The figures describe the prepared dessert, rather than one raw apple.

Preparing the apples

The apples are peeled, cored and halved. After a lemon-water dip and rinse, the lower surfaces are dipped in butter and the sweetener-cinnamon mixture. They are arranged in a baking dish and cooked at 190°C for roughly 40–50 minutes. The juices left in the dish are spooned over the apples at serving. Apple variety and piece size can affect the cooking time.

The source does not identify the sweetener. Granules, tablets and liquids do not have interchangeable sweetening strength, so its quantity cannot be applied blindly to a different product. Apples also contain their own sugars; using a sweetener does not make the finished dessert sugar-free.

Read the preparation instructions for a sweetener intended for baking; a product suitable for a hot drink is not automatically suitable in the same quantity for prolonged oven cooking.

Are cream and walnuts included?

Clotted cream, cream and walnuts are optional serving suggestions and need to be counted separately. A small bowl may make the serving easier to judge, but its size does not establish the weight of food inside. Eating 320 g instead of 160 g doubles the energy and carbohydrate for the same recipe.

Leaving the apple skin on, removing the butter or adding honey also changes the recipe. Recalculate a modified dessert from the ingredients actually used rather than treating the original table as an exact measurement of the new dish.

Plain boiled apple is cooked without added fat and is a different preparation from the butter-baked dessert. Danish-style apple dessert instead has a topping of egg whites beaten with sugar. When choosing an apple dessert, account for changes in the fat, sweetener and topping as well as the fruit.

Choosing apple compote means weighing fruit together with its sweetened liquid, a different preparation from this butter-baked dessert. The compote example provides about 140 kcal per 250 g; a shared apple ingredient does not make the two desserts an equivalent portion.

Source and limitations

The reference combines Diyetkolik's baked apple recipe with its 320 g/181.73-calorie entry. These are recipe estimates, not exact measurements of every apple or homemade serving. Unexplained sodium has been left unknown, alongside unverified total sugars and saturated fat.
