Fiskobirlik no-added-sugar hazelnut spread calories

The Fiskobirlik product made with 65% hazelnuts, isomalt and 12% inulin provides 495 calories per 100 grams. The manufacturer and inspected retail panels agree on that energy figure. It is a different formulation from pure hazelnut butter and the brand's sweetened spread.

No added sugar does not mean sugar-free

The manufacturer reports 2 grams of sugars and 29 grams of polyols per 100 grams. It identifies the sugars as naturally present in hazelnuts; isomalt supplies sweetness. Despite the inherited English product name, the Turkish product claim is no added sugar, not zero sugar or zero carbohydrate.

Per 100 grams, the panel contains 40 grams of carbohydrate and 42 grams of fat. The percentage of inulin has not been substituted for a total fibre measurement. Label details cannot establish an individual's glucose response, a set duration of fullness or a treatment for digestive symptoms. Use the guide to reading sugars, carbohydrate and energy together when comparing a no-added-sugar label. For example, the total sugars in Gold no-added-sugar peanut spread refer to a different formulation; this hazelnut spread’s isomalt and inulin figures do not apply to other spreads.

Fiskobirlik’s sweetened hazelnut spread instead contains 70% hazelnuts and 30% sugar. Its reviewed panel declares 35.4 g total sugars per 100 g, so it is a different product from the no-added-sugar jar.

Weighed amounts and the jar total

A weighed 10 grams provides 50 calories, 15 grams provides 74, and 20 grams provides 99. The 15-gram amount contains 0.3 gram of sugars and 4.35 grams of polyols. The amounts are weighing examples, not universal spoon weights; measure what you spread on bread or add to yogurt.

A full 300-gram jar with the same label contains 1485 calories. The jar total is not a serving recommendation. Bread, fruit or yogurt eaten with the spread contributes its own nutrients and energy. A weighed 20 g amount of Ballimix honey spread contains 8.66 g sugars. Compare honey and polyol formulations by weighed grams and their own labels, rather than equal-looking spoonfuls.

Why is the protein figure missing?

The manufacturer's page reports 18 grams of protein per 100 grams, while Migros gives 10 and CarrefourSA gives 12. A recipe change or data error has not been established. Protein therefore remains unknown; the figures were neither averaged nor replaced with generic hazelnut data. Use the label on your current jar.

The product is unsuitable for a hazelnut allergy; check the package for other allergen warnings. Do not substitute its panel for pure hazelnut butter. The manufacturer explains that separated oil can come from the hazelnuts themselves. Follow the jar's storage and use instructions.
