Kühne dried beetroot is a crunchy snack with a more concentrated composition than fresh beetroot. A full 27 g bag provides approximately 90 kcal, 17.39 g carbohydrate, 16.09 g sugars, 3.67 g fiber and 2.89 g protein.

A whole bag or a small topping?

A weighed 10 g addition to a salad contributes about 33 kcal, 5.96 g sugars and 1.36 g fiber. Using the whole bag raises that contribution to 90 kcal and 3.67 g fiber. These are two ways to use the product; a 27 g bag is not a recommended serving for everyone.

Serve it alongside a yogurt dip or add it to a salad just before eating. Leaving it in contact with wet ingredients changes its crisp texture. Yogurt, cheese or oil in a dip has its own nutritional contribution, separate from the beetroot.

At the same 10 g weight, Knorr carrot crisps provide about 32 kcal, 5.23 g sugars and 2.23 g fiber. This beetroot product provides 33 kcal, 5.96 g sugars and 1.36 g fiber; the vegetable-snack label does not make their panels interchangeable.

Where do the sugars come from?

The ingredients list dried beetroot and salt, with no sugar or frying oil listed. That does not make the snack sugar-free: the panel reports 59.6 g total sugars per 100 g of dry product. Removing water changes the comparison with an equal weight of fresh beetroot. The manufacturer does not provide a fresh-to-dried yield, so the 27 g bag cannot be equated with a particular fresh vegetable portion.

How should you read the salt information?

The supplier declares 2.7 g salt per 100 g, equivalent to about 0.73 g salt in a 27 g bag. The same page gives sodium as 0 g, which conflicts with that salt amount. Sodium is therefore left unknown in this table; do not interpret the product as sodium-free. Check the current label on your own bag to resolve the discrepancy.

Source and storage

The Macrocenter panel for the 27 g Kühne product gives 334 kcal, 13.6 g fiber and 10.7 g protein per 100 g. Reported potassium is 3,231 mg per 100 g, or about 872 mg per bag; fresh beetroot vitamin values have not been transferred to this snack. The supplier advises cool, dry storage. Follow the bag's instructions after opening and protect it from moisture to preserve its crunch.
