Beef Soup

100 g

Calculation basis: The calculation covers wedding soup made with beef, flour, yogurt, egg yolk and butter. The source portion weighs 210 g; subtract the empty bowl’s weight when weighing your soup.

Calculated from the 100 g values. — means unknown, not zero. ~ indicates an estimated serving weight.

Values are calculated from a 100 g basis. The product, recipe and serving amount can change the result. See the food-specific notes below for the reference used.

Calories in a bowl of Turkish beef soup

The reference soup combines beef with a yoghurt, egg-yolk and flour thickener, finished with paprika butter. Its 210 g serving provides 149 kcal. A 100 g amount provides 71 kcal, while a weighed 300 g portion provides 212 kcal. Weighing a bowl or ladle matters because neither has a universal weight, so record the amount actually served.

Where does the protein come from?

A 210 g serving contains about 11.48 g protein. Yoghurt and egg yolk contribute alongside the beef. The same portion contains 7.53 g carbohydrate: flour-thickened soup is not equivalent to plain beef broth. For milk, egg or wheat allergy, ask about preparation and shared utensils as well as the ingredients.

When changing the thickener at home, weigh the dry flour. Five spoonfuls do not have one fixed weight: heaped and level measures change both texture and the recipe total.

The wedding soup example made with beef, egg, flour and lemon does not list yoghurt. At the same 210 g weight it provides about 97 calories and 6.60 g protein; the 149 calories and 11.48 g protein of this yoghurt recipe do not carry over.

Sour soup with bulgur dumplings also uses a yogurt dressing, but its dumplings are not made from mince. That example provides about 286 kcal and 49.16 g carbohydrate in 200 g; the beef-soup table does not describe it.

Meat, liquid and the butter topping

Eating mostly meat pieces or mostly liquid changes the composition compared with the average recipe. Adding water does not remove energy from the pot; it distributes that energy across a greater prepared weight. Without a measured final weight, the reference cannot determine the exact composition of a modified home recipe.

The paprika butter is already included. Counting it again would double-count that ingredient, whereas extra butter or bread served at the table belongs in a separate addition.

Artichoke soup thickened with yogurt, egg yolk and flour uses a similar mixture, yet its 250 g example provides about 87 kcal and 2.99 g protein. This beef soup’s roughly 177 kcal and 13.67 g protein at the same weight do not carry over to that vegetable soup.

Recipe basis

The figures use Diyetkolik’s beef soup recipe and its serving table: 148.56 kcal per 210 g. They are a recipe estimate, not a measurement of every homemade soup. The method mentions lemon without an ingredient quantity; no amount or final pot yield was invented. Sugar, reliably specified saturated fat and vitamin A in µg RAE are unavailable.
