Dietitian's Tips for Consuming Bahcivan Fresh Kashar Cheese

The current manufacturer panel for Bahçıvan Taze Kaşar in the 200 g pack gives 330 calories per 100 g. A weighed 30 g amount contains about 99 calories; 40 g contains 132. Thin slices, thick slices and a handful of grated cheese need not weigh the same, so grams clarify what goes into the sandwich or dish.

Cheese for a toasted sandwich

Kashar can be used in a toasted sandwich. For example, 30 g supplies 6.9 g protein, 7.8 g fat, 4.5 g saturated fat, 0.48 g salt and 210 mg calcium. Weighing it before slicing or grating gives a more repeatable amount than judging the filling between the bread. The 200 g pack can be divided into five 40 g uses, with 132 calories of cheese in each.

Melting does not remove the cheese’s energy. The sandwich total also includes the actual bread weight, any butter spread on it and additional fillings. Cooking without added fat and buttering the outside of the bread are different calculations.

Using 50 g plain baguette and 30 g kashar gives a toasted sandwich of about 235 calories and 12.28 g protein before butter or other fillings. Toasting may reduce bread weight, but it does not remove the energy of the bread originally used.

A toast made with 100 g plain bazlama and the same 30 g cheese provides about 323 kcal and 12.66 g protein before added fat. Bread type and weight change the sandwich total.

Using 50 g white sandwich bread with the same 30 g kashar gives about 233 kcal and 11.25 g protein. Weigh the bread before toasting and count any oil or additional fillings.

In the ready 145 g Mr. NO kashar sandwich, the producer declares 29% cheese, about 42.05 g. Its panel includes bread and sauce too; it is separate from a homemade calculation using weighed Bahçıvan cheese.

Light kashar and toast cheese

At an equal 30 g, regular Bahçıvan kashar supplies 99 calories and 6.9 g protein, while the light version supplies about 77 calories and 9.6 g protein. Salt is 0.48 g in the regular product and 0.6 g in the light one. Choosing solely by the word light may therefore not meet a goal such as reducing salt.

Toast cheese and fresh kashar are different product names. Their use in a sandwich does not establish identical ingredients. The reviewed kashar lists milk, salt, cheese culture, calcium chloride, rennet and potassium sorbate. It contains 1 g total sugars per 100 g, or 0.3 g per 30 g. A small sugar amount is not a lactose-free declaration.

For another fresh kashar, Ekici’s 600 g pack reference gives about 97 calories, 6 g protein and 0.51 g salt per 30 g. The Bahçıvan example here gives 99 calories, 6.9 g protein and 0.48 g salt at the same weight; changing brands means checking the new panel.

The historical low-fat aged kashar record is not this producer’s Light Fresh Kashar label. The generic aged kashar varieties calculation is not an average of brands either; select the actual product panel alongside its ageing description.

Source and pack

The calculation uses the manufacturer’s Taze Kaşar 200 g page. Older retail panels and light, toast or aged kashar varieties were not combined with it. Fibre, cholesterol and unreported vitamins remain unknown. Follow the package instructions for refrigerated storage and use after opening.
